Santa Fe, TX — A garage on a Santa Fe property is once again the focus of investigators nearly 41 years after 14-year-old Sondra Kay Ramber vanished without a trace.

On Thursday and Friday, teams from the Santa Fe Police Department and Texas EquuSearch combed through the structure, located in the 14400 block of Pine Street, searching for potential clues in the decades-old cold case.

The property is believed to be the last known location where Sondra was seen alive. Although the original home where her family once lived is no longer standing, the garage—still intact—remains a haunting reminder of the case that has baffled investigators and haunted the community for generations.

Sondra disappeared on October 26, 1983. According to archived reporting by The Daily News, her father returned home that day to find the front door open and biscuits baking in the oven. Sondra’s coat and purse were still inside the house, but she was nowhere to be found. She was reported missing the following day.

Despite several leads over the years, Sondra has never been located, and her case has remained unsolved.

Authorities have not confirmed whether new evidence prompted the current search, but the renewed activity brings a fresh wave of hope that answers may finally surface.
