La Marque, TX — The La Marque Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) has announced the arrest of two individuals following an extensive investigation into a case of child sexual abuse.

The investigation, which began in February 2025, concluded with the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office accepting serious charges against Chad Sternes for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. A warrant was issued for his arrest, with bond set at $200,000.

Further investigation revealed that the assault had gone unreported. As a result, the District Attorney’s Office also accepted charges against Danielle Sternes for Failure to Report Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Her bond was set at $7,500.

On April 10th, 2025, both Chad and Danielle Sternes were located and taken into custody by the La Marque Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit.
