Texas City Museum to Host Inclusive Adaptive Recreation Event

TEXAS CITY – The Texas City Museum will open its doors for a special Adaptive Recreation event on Saturday, April 26 from 4 to 6 p.m., inviting guests of all abilities to explore its exhibits in an inclusive, sensory-considerate environment. The information was provided in a city press release.

Hosted by the City of Texas City, the event is part of an ongoing initiative to create welcoming, accessible programs for individuals with disabilities and their families. Attendees will have the chance to explore multiple exhibits, including the Galveston County Model Railroad Club train display, a special exhibit on the 1947 Texas City Disaster, and a hands-on crafting area.

Admission to the event is completely free, and noise-reducing/sensory headphones will be available for guests who need them, while supplies last.

The museum is located at 409 6th Street North in Texas City, and is known for its interactive displays and historical preservation of the city’s industrial and cultural history.
