Get ready to turn up the heat — the 2nd Annual Galveston Island Hot Sauce Block Party is officially on the calendar, and it’s bringing bold flavors, fiery competitions, and family-friendly fun to downtown Galveston.

The event will take place Saturday, May 10th from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the corner of Market Street and 27th, where guests can sample award-winning hot sauces, enjoy live music, and shop from local vendors.

This year’s festivities include the return of the Crowd Favorite Hot Sauce Contest, where attendees can taste and vote for their favorite sauces, as well as the high-stakes Pepper Eating Championship for those brave enough to face the heat head-on.

Visitors are also encouraged to join the fun by dressing in their “hottest and spiciest” outfits for the costume contest, which will feature prizes in several categories:

• Best Kids Costume

• Best Female Costume

• Best Male Costume

• Best Couples Costume

Organizers say the event is open to all ages and perfect for anyone who enjoys bold flavors, great vibes, and a little neighborhood fun.
