TEXAS CITY – The City of Texas City is announced online an invite for local teens to take the stage and showcase their talents in its first-ever Texas City Teen Idol competition.
Open to students ages 13 to 18 who either reside in Texas City or attend Texas City ISD, the event promises to bring a wide range of talents to the spotlight — including singing, dancing, music, comedy, poetry, magic, and more.
The competition offers local youth a chance to win hundreds of dollars in prizes while performing in front of a live audience and cheering crowd. The final event will take place on Friday, May 16.
To participate, teens must submit an audio or video audition by Monday, May 5. Submissions should be emailed to dasiamoore@texascitytx.gov.
Organizers say this event is all about encouraging creativity, building confidence, and giving young performers a platform to shine within their own community.
KGTX 7 News will continue to follow the competition as it approaches and will be covering the final showcase in May.
