LEAGUE CITY – League City is officially joining a select group of Texas cities recognized for their commitment to supporting and growing local music culture. The Texas Music Office will formally certify League City as a Music Friendly Texas Community during a live celebration on Saturday, April 26.
The certification ceremony will take place at League Park during a public concert event from 6 to 10 p.m. The concert will feature multiple musical acts and also mark the third anniversary of the League City Folk Association’s “Music in the Historic District” concert series.
City officials say the certification acknowledges League City’s efforts to create a welcoming environment for musicians, artists, and music-related businesses. The designation also helps connect the city to resources and promotional opportunities through the Texas Music Office.
Saturday’s event will also serve as a celebration of League Park being recently recognized as a Lone Star Legacy Park by the Texas Recreation and Parks Society. This honor is awarded to parks that have played a significant role in their communities and have preserved their historical importance over the years.
The evening will highlight both the city’s growing arts scene and its dedication to preserving historic public spaces. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the live performances in the heart of the historic district.
KGTX 7 News will be at the event to cover the celebration, speak with performers and organizers, and capture the community spirit surrounding League City’s new statewide recognition.
