Teachers across Texas and beyond are in for a hearty thank-you this May as Whataburger celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week with free breakfast and a generous round of classroom grants.
From May 5 to 9, educators and school staff can swing by participating Whataburger locations between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. for a complimentary breakfast entrée. All it takes is a valid school ID at the counter or drive-thru to claim favorites like the Taquito with Cheese, Breakfast on a Bun, or the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. The offer is available for dine-in or takeout, but not through online or app orders.
This breakfast giveaway is just the beginning. In honor of its 75th anniversary, Whataburger is also awarding $1,000 classroom grants to 75 teachers, putting $75,000 directly into the hands of educators who go above and beyond for their students. The WhataTeacher grants recognize outstanding teachers making a positive difference in their schools and communities.
Since launching the program in 2022, Whataburger has donated more than $160,000 through these grants as part of its Feeding Student Success initiative. The broader program focuses on supporting education and tackling food insecurity, with efforts ranging from scholarships and college resource rooms to partnerships with local schools.
Whether it’s a free breakfast to start the day or much-needed funds for the classroom, Whataburger is making sure teachers feel appreciated this May — one biscuit and one big check at a time.
