GALVESTON — A 25-year-old Galveston man is behind bars following an investigation into the possession of illicit child images and video, authorities announced Tuesday. The announcement was made in a public statement by the sheriff’s office.
Marcus Guess Jr. was taken into custody after members of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division – Major Crimes Unit, in coordination with the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, executed a search warrant in the 7000 block of Yucca Drive.
The case began with a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), prompting law enforcement to initiate an investigation. During the search, investigators recovered multiple electronic devices and a small quantity of narcotics.
Guess was charged with two counts: Possession of Child Pornography with 50 or more depictions or videos, and Possession of Child Pornography involving a child under the age of 10. His total bond was set at $135,000. Additional charges related to the narcotics may follow, pending further investigation.
