LEAGUE CITY – A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit a Sexual Offense, according to an LCPD press release.
Juan Hernandez was taken into custody by League City Police Department detectives on April 25, following a detailed investigation into a break-in that occurred on April 15 at a second-story apartment in the 400 block of Constellation Blvd.
Around 12:23 a.m. that day, officers responded to a 911 call from a female resident who reported waking up to an unknown, nude man beside her bed. The victim told police the suspect touched her leg, then climbed on top of her. She was able to push him away, grab her phone, and scream, causing the man to flee by jumping off the balcony.
Responding officers searched the area but were initially unable to locate the intruder. However, an investigation led by Detective Demasi of the Criminal Investigations Division and the Special Investigations Unit identified Hernandez—who lived in the apartment directly beneath the victim—as the suspect.
Police located Hernandez on April 25 while he was driving in the 400 block of Texas Avenue and arrested him during a traffic stop. He is currently being held at the Galveston County Jail on a $50,000 bond and is subject to an ICE hold.
Detective Demasi is continuing the investigation to determine if there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is urged to contact the detective at 281-338-4173.
