LA MARQUE — A Saturday night weapons offense at a Jack in the Box in La Marque led to the arrest of a 40-year-old Hitchcock man, now facing multiple serious charges.
La Marque Police announced in a press release that at approximately 11:29 p.m. they responded to the fast-food restaurant located at 2605 Main Street after receiving a call regarding a weapons offense. While on scene, officers were able to obtain the suspect’s license plate information and quickly traced it to an address in Hitchcock.
With assistance from the Hitchcock Police Department, authorities located the suspect — identified as Joshua Hayes — inside his vehicle. Police said Hayes was found in possession of the handgun used during the offense.

Hayes was taken into custody and now faces the following charges:
Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (Class A Misdemeanor) — Bond: $4,000
Obstruction or Retaliation (Third-Degree Felony) — Bond: $20,000
Two Counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Second-Degree Felony) — Bond: $20,000 each
The investigation is ongoing. No additional details about the victims or motive have been released at this time.
