GALVESTON – A dramatic scene unfolded on Galveston’s Seawall Boulevard Saturday evening after police surrounded a vehicle while tracking an armed robbery suspect.
According to the Galveston Police Department, the incident began around 7:30 p.m. when officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at a convenience store on Broadway. The suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Cameron Fletcher of Houston, reportedly fled the scene in a silver sedan.
Police quickly located the vehicle traveling along Seawall Boulevard near 32nd Street. In a tense moment witnessed by beachgoers and diners at a nearby restaurant, officers with guns drawn conducted a high-risk stop and surrounded the vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that Fletcher was taken into custody without further incident.
He has been charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. As of Sunday, jail records showed Fletcher remained in the Galveston County Jail with no bail set by the magistrate.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
