TEXAS CITY — A multi-agency investigation led to the arrest of a Texas City man accused of attempting to solicit a minor online.

A Texas City press release said 37-year-old William Glines was taken into custody on May 8 after an investigation stemming from a cyber tip submitted to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip led officers to the 12000 block of Bowline Road in Texas City.

The investigation was conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Division, Crime Suppression Unit, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, and Crime Reduction Unit. Homeland Security, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and La Porte Police Department also assisted in the operation.

Glines is currently charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor, and his bond has been set at $150,000. Authorities say additional charges related to the possession of child pornography are expected to be filed.

Officials say the operation is part of ongoing efforts to identify and apprehend individuals who pose a threat to children in the community. Investigators plan to provide further updates as additional cases develop.
