While fans eagerly await the delayed release of Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games is rumored to have two other major titles in the pipeline for later this year — including a long-awaited GTA IV: Definitive Edition and a remastered Red Dead Redemption 2.

According to Gamereactor, sources close to Rockstar claim the studio is finalizing development on a definitive edition of Grand Theft Auto IV. This enhanced version is expected to join the 2021 remastered trilogy and help bridge the gap until GTA VI arrives, now slated for May 2026.

The remaster is expected to include the critically acclaimed DLC expansions The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned, giving fans a refreshed look at Liberty City and expanded narratives. Industry insider Tez2, known for accurate Rockstar leaks, has backed the claims, suggesting recent mod takedowns could indicate the company’s official plans are nearing announcement.

Additionally, Red Dead Redemption 2 is reportedly being remastered for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a potential launch alongside a version for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2. While the original 2018 release still holds up visually, the remaster is said to improve performance and graphical fidelity — including better HDR and an increased frame rate beyond the locked 30fps on older consoles.

The remastered Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to drop before year’s end, bringing one of Rockstar’s most beloved open-world experiences up to current-gen standards.

If the rumors hold true, 2025 could be a big year for Rockstar fans — even without the long-awaited launch of GTA VI.
