Update: Bayou Animal Services are no longer accepting applications
DICKINSON – A major pet health initiative is coming to Dickinson as Bayou Animal Services partners with Petco Love to provide free vaccines for area pets. The event is part of the national “Vaccinated and Loved” campaign, which aims to break down financial barriers for pet owners and protect animals from deadly but preventable diseases.
On Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Galveston County residents can bring their pets to Dickinson City Hall (4003 State Hwy 3) for a free vaccination clinic. The event is pre-registration only, and pet owners must sign up online at:

Bayou Animal Services plans to vaccinate up to 600 pets during the event. Vaccines will include the DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline series, which protect against common and often deadly illnesses like parvovirus, distemper, and panleukopenia.
Thanks to additional support from local nonprofit Bayou Friends Forever, the first 300 pets will also receive free rabies vaccinations, and 300 microchips will be provided courtesy of The Animal Alliance of Galveston County.

“Access to free veterinary care is rare in our community,” said Nina Baker, Director of Bayou Animal Services. “Thanks to Petco Love’s generosity, we’re not only protecting pets’ health, we’re helping keep them safe and home with the families who love them.”
Petco Love launched the “Vaccinated and Loved” initiative in 2021 and recently surpassed its goal of delivering three million free pet vaccines. The organization has now pledged an additional one million doses to help pets across the country.
“Vaccinations are vital to protecting our beloved pets from life-threatening but preventable diseases,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our goal is to make these critical vaccines accessible to as many pet parents as possible.”
