COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A 15-year-old girl from South Jordan, Utah, who had been missing for more than a month, has been found safe in Colorado Springs, according to a South Jordan Police Press Release.
Alisa Petrov walked into the Colorado Springs Police Department on Sunday and identified herself as the missing teen, according to authorities. The South Jordan Police Department confirmed early Monday that Alisa is in good health and is now in the care of Colorado officials.
Her parents are working closely with law enforcement to arrange her return home. Alisa’s mother said that the family has limited information at this time but is preparing to travel to Colorado Springs to reunite with her.
Details about where Alisa had been during her disappearance have not been disclosed.
Petrov was last seen on the morning of April 21 after leaving her school in American Fork, Utah. Surveillance and witness reports later placed her at a Utah Transit Authority train station, where she reportedly asked for help traveling to Las Vegas after arriving in Provo.
During the nationwide investigation, three men across the country, including one from Texas City, Texas, were arrested after allegedly having contact with Alisa prior to her disappearance. The case remains under investigation.
