Galveston Police Seek Suspect in Aggravated Assault

Galveston Police Department are currently on the search for a suspect who fled the scene after threatening a victim with a firearm. The victim was unharmed, however the perpetrator is still at large.

Through a press release, authorities stated at approximately 5:40pm on Monday, they received a response to an aggravated assault in the 1300 block of 27th Street. After gathering information and a solid description of the suspect’s appearance, they spotted him nearby. While on the chase, they witnessed the suspect scale a fence located around Courville Stadium in an effort to elude the police.

Backup was called to the area and officers set up a perimeter around the area. Galveston police, in their search, brought in a canine team and utilized a drone to scour for the suspect’s whereabouts. The suspect was nowhere to be seen. The only thing that remained and was recovered in the stadium area was a bag they believed he was carrying, containing a firearm that matched the description of the one used in the incident.

While officers do not believe there is any danger to the public, the investigation is still ongoing.
