LEAGUE CITY – A 29-year-old woman from La Marque has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that took place outside a League City hookah lounge in early May.

Angela Scott was taken into custody on May 27 on a Class A misdemeanor warrant for deadly conduct, according to a statement from the League City Police Department. Her bond was set at $2,500.

The arrest stems from an incident on May 6, when officers responded around 12:04 a.m. to reports of gunfire at the Nawal Hookah Lounge, located at 689 W FM 517. Police say no one was struck by the gunfire, but several shots had been fired into the air.

Responding officers recovered multiple spent shell casings at the scene and learned that a large fight involving 25 to 30 people had occurred in the parking lot moments before the shots were fired. Witnesses reported that a woman, later identified as Scott, had discharged a firearm during the disturbance.

League City’s Criminal Investigations Division followed up with interviews, area canvassing, and a review of surveillance footage. Their investigation led to Scott being identified as the suspect and ultimately arrested.

In a separate development, the League City Fire Marshal’s Office inspected the Nawal Hookah Lounge and reported multiple code violations. An investigation is ongoing into potential illegal activity at the business.

The case remains under investigation.
