Clear Lake Shores Man Arrested on Drug and Resisting Charges During Warrant Pickup

CLEAR LAKE SHORES – A man is facing multiple charges, after a warrant led to his arrest, which found illegal narcotics in his possession.

According to a press release from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Jeff Carlton was arrested by the Crime Reduction Unit on Tuesday, June 11, in the 1300 block of Marina Bay Drive. Deputies were serving a warrant for harassment when Carlton reportedly resisted arrest. He was safely detained without further incident.

During the arrest, deputies said they recovered over four grams of methamphetamine in Carlton’s possession.

Carlton now faces three charges:

  • Harassment — bond set at $1,500
  • Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport — bond set at $2,500
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (more than 4 grams, less than 200 grams) — bond set at $250,000

The investigation remains ongoing.
