La Marque Man Sentenced to 20 Years in 2024 Homicide

LA MARQUE — A Galveston County jury has convicted a La Marque man in the 2024 killing of Aemen Mouton, sentencing him to 20 years in prison, authorities announced Thursday.

According to a press release from the La Marque Police Department, Jevon Moore was found guilty of murder in connection with the January 30, 2024, homicide that took place in the 2300 block of Rosalee Street.

Officers responding to the scene received information indicating that the suspect was still nearby. Police located Moore on site and, following an initial investigation, he was charged with murder later that evening by La Marque Police Department detectives.

Moore was formally sentenced on June 12, 2025, and will serve his time in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

“We thank our officers, investigators, and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office for their dedicated work in bringing justice to the victim and their family,” the department said in the statement.

Further details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately available.
