LEAGUE CITY — Three Houston men are in custody after an early morning vehicle pursuit in League City led to their arrest on multiple felony charges, including organized criminal activity and the use of a stolen vehicle.
According to the League City Police Department, officers arrested 30-year-old Delvin William, 29-year-old Chance Stafford, and 28-year-old Marcell Williams in the early hours of June 21. The trio now faces a range of charges out of both Harris and Galveston counties.
William, who was reportedly driving the stolen U-Haul truck, has been charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Stafford was taken into custody on three outstanding felony warrants out of Harris County for Money Laundering ($30K–$150K), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, and Credit/Debit Card Abuse. He also faces a new charge of Organized Criminal Activity in Galveston County. Marcell Williams was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention on Foot and the same Organized Criminal Activity charge. Bonds for each organized crime charge were set at $50,000.
At approximately 1:50 a.m. on June 21, League City police were alerted by the Flock Safety system to a stolen U-Haul box truck traveling northbound in the 2500 block of South Gulf Freeway. A previous alert had been triggered by the same vehicle traveling southbound just after 1:00 a.m., but responding officers had been unable to locate the truck at that time.

Officer Davis of the League City Police Department spotted the vehicle around the 200 block of the freeway and waited for backup before initiating a felony traffic stop. When officers attempted the stop near the 19000 block of South Gulf Freeway, the suspect vehicle accelerated before striking a curb and slowing to a crawl.
Police say all three suspects jumped from the moving truck and fled on foot across the northbound and southbound lanes of I-45 toward the Baybrook Mall area. A perimeter was established with the assistance of the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office, Houston Police Department, and HPD’s Air Support Unit. All three suspects were apprehended shortly afterward without further incident.
An inventory search of the stolen U-Haul revealed several boxes of fireworks. Investigators now believe the suspects may have burglarized a fireworks stand in the Dickinson area. Galveston County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a follow-up investigation and located a stand that had been broken into. That burglary remains under investigation by the GCSO.
In a statement, the League City Police Department thanked all assisting agencies for their rapid response and coordination in the successful apprehension of the suspects. Charges remain pending as investigations continue in both Harris and Galveston counties.
