GALVESTON — A 25-year-old Galveston man has been arrested on murder and aggravated assault charges following a fatal shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning, according to a press release from the Galveston Police Department.
Johnathan Lee was taken into custody Thursday and is accused of shooting two men during an altercation in the 2400 block of Avenue E.

Police responded to reports of gunfire in the area around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Armando Ventura of La Marque inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, a 29-year-old man, was found nearby near 25th Street and Avenue G. He had also been shot multiple times and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Police say he is expected to recover.
Investigators determined that Lee was the only shooter involved in the incident. He has been booked into the Galveston County Jail with a combined bond set at $1 million — $500,000 for the murder charge and $500,000 for the aggravated assault charge.
The case remains under investigation.
