LEAGUE CITY – Helen Hall Library has been awarded a 2025 Texas Book Festival Grant, made possible through the Texas Book Festival and the Texas Library Association.

The grant, totaling $2,500, will support the development of a mobile outreach program designed to bring library services beyond the building and directly into the community.

“We applied for the grant earlier this year, for the maximum allowed amount of $2,500,” said Head Librarian Meredith Layton to KGTX, who has worked at Helen Hall Library for nine years. She has served in her current role for the past year. “We’re building a mobile outreach program, where we can take the library from within the walls, out into the community.”

Layton noted that the mobile collection will be geared toward all age groups, not just children. The goal is to partner with local organizations and bring books and resources to various sites across the area.

While not the first grant Helen Hall Library has received, staff say this one is especially exciting because of the opportunities it creates for engagement and access.

The Texas Book Festival Grant is awarded annually to libraries across the state to help expand access to books, support programming, and enhance local collections. Library staff expressed appreciation to the Texas Library Association, the Texas Book Festival, and the community for their ongoing support.
