We arrived to find a homeowner in distress, having just lost part of her home and a beloved pet. Understandably, emotions were high.

We were met with resistance at first — and rightfully so. In moments of crisis, the last thing many people want is a camera in their face. We didn’t push. We didn’t film what she asked us not to. We simply offered a chance to speak off camera if she was willing. She was.
