TEXAS CITY — Texas City ISD will host a backpack and shoe giveaway on Saturday, August 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Blocker Middle School Gym, located at 1800 9th Avenue North.

According to a post by the district on social media, the event is open to all students enrolled in TCISD for the 2025-2026 school year.

Each student will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies and a new pair of tennis shoes, while supplies last.

Students must attend with a parent or guardian. To participate, students must be registered with TCISD before August 1. Registration can be completed at www.tcisd.org/registration.

The giveaway is sponsored by Valero.
