A voluntary recall has been issued for a range of YoCrunch yogurt products due to the potential presence of plastic pieces in the topping compartments, according to a safety alert published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recall, initiated by manufacturer Danone North America and announced on July 14, affects multiple YoCrunch items that include mix-in dome toppers such as M&M’s, Oreo, Twix, Snickers, cookie dough, and granola.
Nature of the Risk
The issue stems from small, rigid plastic fragments that may have entered the dome-top packaging. While the yogurt itself is unaffected, the FDA warns that the plastic pieces—some measuring up to 25 millimeters—could pose a choking hazard or cause injury if consumed. No injuries have been reported at this time.
Recalled Products
The recall applies to numerous YoCrunch varieties in both single-serve and multi-pack formats. Affected products include:
- YoCrunch Vanilla with M&M’s, Oreo, Twix, Snickers, Cookie Dough, and Granola
- YoCrunch Strawberry with Granola or M&M’s
- 4-packs, 8-packs, and 18-packs sold nationally
The impacted units have expiration dates ranging from July through September 2025. A full list of UPCs and product codes is available through the FDA’s official recall notice.
What Consumers Should Do
Consumers are advised not to consume any affected YoCrunch products in their possession. Products should be safely discarded. For refund information, contact the YoCrunch Consumer Care Line at 1-877-344-4886, available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
Danone has stated it is working with retailers to remove the impacted items from shelves and prevent further distribution.
