Shell Federal Credit Union is alerting its members after receiving reports of unauthorized charges linked to the popular online gaming platform Roblox.
In a statement released by the credit union, officials confirmed that “some members are experiencing unauthorized charges related to Roblox” and emphasized that they are taking the matter seriously.
As part of their response, Shell FCU has implemented updated fraud monitoring rules to protect accounts.
“Your funds remain safe and secure,” the credit union stated, while encouraging members to report any suspicious activity immediately. Concerned members can contact Shell FCU’s support line at 713-844-1100.
Roblox is widely used by children and teens to play and create games online. In previous incidents at other financial institutions, unauthorized Roblox charges have sometimes been linked to compromised accounts or unsupervised in-app purchases. However, Shell FCU has not provided details on the number of affected accounts or whether the activity was part of a broader breach.
The credit union concluded its message by thanking members for their trust and the opportunity to serve them.
