SANTA FE — Tex Red Music, a new online radio station based in Santa Fe, held its grand opening and ribbon cutting Saturday morning with support from the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce and community members.
The event began at 10 a.m. at the station’s studio at 12521 Highway 6. Over a dozen people attended the open house to welcome the business, which specializes in Texas country music and features local artists alongside national acts.
Karla Dunham, president and CEO of the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, said the turnout reflected strong community interest.
“We are very overwhelmed with the support that we had today,” Dunham said. “We’re just so glad and thankful for having Tex Red Music in Santa Fe. Mr. Michael Todaro is a homegrown Santa Fe resident, and we’re just so happy that he’s here and has his business.”

Tex Red Music was founded by Todaro, a lifelong Santa Fe resident who began DJing in 1976 and attended the Columbia School of Broadcasting in 1981. The station airs two live shows on weekdays, with Todaro hosting mornings and sharing the afternoon shift with Tom Fontaine, a former KILT host.
Fontaine said he was glad to be part of the new venture.
“I’ve known Mike T for a long time and he told me he was going to start this and I thought, ‘Oh wow, that’d be great,’” Fontaine said. “I was talking to him one night and he asked if I wanted to DJ. He called me the next day and said you’re hired, you start Monday. You never know what’s going to hit you, and to be a part of Santa Fe is just great.”
Tex Red Music streams online at TexRedMusic.com and can also be accessed through the Live365 and iHeartRadio mobile apps.
