LA MARQUE — Two men were arrested Thursday after police executed a felony arrest warrant in La Marque, a press release said.
The La Marque Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit, working with the Galveston Police Department, carried out the operation Aug. 21 in the 400 block of Forest Village Circle.
Officers took Ashton Willis into custody on an outstanding warrant for obstruction/retaliation. While on scene, police developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the residence, investigators said.
The search led to the findings of about one pound of marijuana and a Drako firearm.
Willis is charged with obstruction/retaliation, possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds, and felon in possession of a firearm. His total bond is set at $175,000.
Reginald Handy was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds, with bond set at $75,000.
