ALDINE — In a rare showdown between Texas City ISD high schools, the Texas City Lady Stings faced off against the La Marque Lady Coogs in a tournament matchup on Friday.
According to Texas City ISD, the Lady Coogs started strong, taking the first set 25-19. However, the Lady Stings bounced back in the second set with a decisive 25-15 win, then closed out the match dominating the third set 15-3.
Texas City ISD praised both teams for their talent, teamwork, and determination, noting that matchups between the district’s two high schools are uncommon and showcase the skill and heart of its student-athletes.
Looking ahead, the Lady Stings will face South Houston High School on August 26, while the Lady Coogs are scheduled to play Aldine High School on the same day.
