LA MARQUE — Safe Kids Greater Houston, led by Texas Children’s Hospital, will host a free car seat check event on Wednesday, September 17, in collaboration with UTMB Health, Save a Life, and the La Marque Fire Department.

The event will take place at the Central Fire Station, 750 Saltgrass Point Road, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are required and can be scheduled online at https://freeseatcheck.as.me/schedule/10ae5435/appointment/67266848/calendar/8090368?calendarIds=8090368

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will work one-on-one with attendees to ensure car seats are installed correctly and to provide education on proper harnessing and usage. Participants must bring both their vehicle and car seat. Practice dolls will be available for families whose children cannot attend or who are expecting a newborn.

A limited number of car seats will be provided for attendees who demonstrate financial need and meet qualification criteria.
