Galveston Man Arrested After Juvenile Stabbed at Apartment Complex

GALVESTON — A 55-year-old Galveston man was arrested Wednesday night after a juvenile sustained multiple stab wounds during an incident at an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Cove View Boulevard, authorities said.

Galveston police officers responded around 10:30 p.m. to reports of a juvenile acting violently and chasing an adult male outside the complex. Upon arrival, officers observed the juvenile fleeing and later found Thomas Gilcrist standing over the juvenile with a knife. Gilcrist was detained, and the weapon was recovered.

The juvenile was treated at the scene by officers before being transported by EMS to UTMB for further care. His injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

Gilcrist has been charged with aggravated assault, with a recommended bond of $150,000.

Galveston police continue to investigate the incident.
