FRIENDSWOOD – Fire Marshals are investigating a residential fire that broke out Thursday morning in the 400 block of Richmond Lane, authorities said.
The fire was reported at approximately 3:35 a.m., with 9-1-1 dispatchers noting that pets were trapped inside the home. Friendswood Volunteer Firefighters initially attempted an aggressive attack to contain the blaze but transitioned to a defensive strategy due to the fire’s intensity.
Mutual aid was provided by the Forest Bend, League City, Webster, and Pearland fire departments. Despite firefighters’ efforts, at least one animal was confirmed deceased, and no pets could be rescued, authorities said.
All residents of the home evacuated safely, and no firefighters were injured. The home sustained heavy fire damage.
Friendswood Fire Marshals continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
