TEXAS CITY — College of the Mainland (COM) Theatre is preparing to raise the curtain on its 2025–2026 season, a lineup that blends heartfelt storytelling, sharp comedy, and Broadway flair.
The season opens September 4 with The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, Dwayne Hartford’s stage adaptation of Kate DiCamillo’s novel. Running through September 21, the play follows the adventures of Edward, a porcelain rabbit who learns the meaning of love, loss, and connection in a journey designed to resonate with audiences of all ages.
The slate also includes Chemical Imbalance: A Jekyll and Hyde Play by Lauren Wilson, a witty and darkly comic retelling of the classic story. Rounding out the season is the Broadway hit Something Rotten! by Karey Kirkpatrick, John O’Farrell, and Wayne Kirkpatrick — a big, boisterous musical comedy known for its outrageous humor and show-stopping numbers.
“I want our productions to reflect the highest professional standards and be opportunities for students to grow,” said Michael McIntosh, COM Theatre Coordinator. “We’ll offer a wide variety of productions that mimic professional theatre in the entire United States.”
