Staff Reports Avatar

LEAGUE CITY — A 3-week-old puppy is safe after League City Public Works employees pulled him from a sanitary sewer line in the Landing subdivision.

According to League City, the puppy had fallen into a broken private sanitary sewer cleanout in a backyard. Animal Control officers first tried to lure the pup out with treats, but when that failed, Public Works crews were called in.

Using a push camera, staff found the puppy had slipped all the way down into the main sewer line. Crews identified the nearest sanitary sewer manhole and guided the pup toward it with the camera. Once in position, they retrieved him with a net and reunited him with his owner.
