Fiesta Comunidad to return to College of the Mainland

TEXAS CITY — College of the Mainland will host its third annual Fiesta Comunidad on Sept. 20 as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Parking Lot F on the COM campus. Admission is free.

The celebration will feature a performance by the Clear Creek Mariachi Band and traditional dances by Danza Azteca Xiuhollin Huehuecoyotl. Food vendors, children’s activities and cultural displays will also be available.

“College of the Mainland is proud to host Fiesta Comunidad as part of our Hispanic Heritage Month events,” COM President Helen Castellanos Brewer said in a statement. “It reflects our commitment to honoring culture and strengthening community connections.”

Alongside the festival, the college will host a Health Careers Open House and Community Health Fair in the STEM Building. The open house will provide information about COM’s health programs, while local health organizations will offer wellness resources.

The event is open to the public.
