GALVESTON — The Ball High School Tornadoes entered Friday’s matchup coming off a close win but were unable to carry that momentum forward, falling to the Friendswood Mustangs 47-12.
Friendswood built an early lead and held control throughout the game, taking a 31-0 advantage into halftime.
Despite the loss, Ball had several standout performances. Receiver Juwaan Woodbury recorded 93 yards and scored a touchdown, while he and Isaiah Washington each intercepted a pass. On defense, Cameron Thomas led the Tornadoes with 16 tackles, including two for a loss.
The defeat moves Ball to 1-2 on the season. Friendswood improved to 2-1 with the win.
Looking ahead, Ball will travel to face Westside on Friday at 7 p.m. Friendswood will meet La Porte on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m., marking the Mustangs’ first district game of the season.
