FRIENDSWOOD – Leonard Herrera, 30, of Houston, was arrested on Friday, September 12, 2025, in connection with multiple thefts, Friendswood Police reported. The arrest follows a traffic stop investigation that began on July 23.

Officers initially observed a delivery truck stopped on the shoulder in the 600 block of W. Edgewood Drive, with a black Honda Accord parked behind it. Both drivers were outside the vehicles talking when a police officer approached.

Herrera told officers he had stopped to ask the delivery driver if he could wrap a package for him. The delivery driver reported that Herrera had requested a package meant for a nearby address, but Herrera could not provide identification proving residency.

During a search of Herrera’s vehicle, officers discovered items purchased with receipts that did not match his name. Investigators confirmed with the cardholders that their cards had been fraudulently used. The intended recipient of the delivery package also reported unauthorized use of their card.

Friendswood detectives obtained two theft warrants from Galveston County. Herrera was taken into custody on September 12 on both charges.
