Santa Fe Police Offering Free Catalytic Converter Etching Event

Staff Reports Avatar

SANTA FE — The Santa Fe Police Department is teaming up with Auto Crimes investigators to help drivers protect their vehicles from theft. A free catalytic converter etching event will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kwik Kar Oil and Lube, 1341 Hwy 6 in Santa Fe.

The event is open to the public and gives residents the opportunity to have their catalytic converters etched with identifying information. This process makes it easier for law enforcement to track stolen parts and harder for thieves to sell them.

Appointments are required. To schedule, call the Santa Fe Police Department at 409-925-3092. For additional information, residents may contact the Galveston County Auto Crimes Task Force at 409-766-4500.
