LEAGUE CITY, TX – Resident James Collins Jr., 62, was arrested by League City Police Department on Wednesday, in connection to a hit-and-run. Collins was charged with Collision Involving Death, with an additional bond of $250,000.
On Tuesday, Police responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at 3300 block of W. Main Street at approximately 9:40p.m. Officers and the League City Fire Department arrived at the scene and began lifesaving procedures to save the life of the adult male victim lying on the roadway. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, but by then, it was too late. He would eventually succumb to his injuries on Wednesday, September 17.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the victim was struck by two vehicles. The first vehicle of the collision was a late-model gray Toyota Tundra and drove off without stopping to render aid. Investigators soon identified the driver of the Toyota Tundra to be James Collins Jr. Collins was then arrested without incident on Wednesday afternoon. Fortunately, the second suspect of the collision remained at the scene and complied with detectives on the case.
