COUNTYWIDE – A weak cold front is expected to move slowly through Southeast Texas on Wednesday, bringing scattered showers and storms to the region, according to Dickinson Emergency Management.
Isolated rain and thunderstorms could develop as early as sunrise along the coast, while areas in the Piney Woods may see activity later as the front moves in from the northwest. Forecasters say the timing remains uncertain, but the front is expected to reach the Piney Woods and Brazos Valley by mid-to-late morning, pass along I-10 in the afternoon and evening, and approach the coast overnight into Thursday morning.
Some storms could become strong to severe, with locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds possible. Areas south of I-10 may experience lingering rain if the front stalls near the coast. Rainfall rates of 2–3 inches per hour are possible in heavy downpours, which could result in isolated street flooding in urban and low-lying areas.
Residents are advised to stay aware of the changing weather conditions and monitor local updates.
