LEAGUE CITY — The Helen Hall Library welcomed residents for a community talent show Thursday evening, drawing local performers and spectators alike to the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center.

The event, held from 6 to 8 p.m., featured a mix of acts that entertained the crowd, which responded with frequent applause and cheers. Three winners were selected, each receiving gift cards as prizes.

Librarian Morgan Salgy said the night highlighted the city’s sense of community.

“I thought tonight’s performances were just so much fun. Everybody did such a great job,” Salgy said. “It was a great way for the community to come together and celebrate their talents.”

Eighteen-year-old Marley Keeth, a recent Clear Creek High School graduate, stood out to the judges and earned a top spot. She said the competition was an opportunity to share her passion for music again after high school.

“My mom sent me the flyer and said, ‘There’s a hundred bucks. You’re broke. Why don’t you go win some money?’” Keeth said with a laugh. “It just seemed like a fun time, something the whole family can enjoy. A lot of communities don’t support their arts like this, so it’s really cool we do this here.”

The evening closed with cheers for all participants, led by an MC dressed for the occasion in a sharp suit.
