LEAGUE CITY — A 21-year-old Houston man has been arrested in connection with a League City Walmart robbery and is suspected in similar crimes across the Houston area, police announced.

League City police said in a statement that Ronald Flanagan was identified by Detective O’Neal of the department’s Business District Unit during the investigation into an Aug. 10 robbery at the Walmart on West FM 646.

During the incident, a man shattered a display case, stole several cell phones valued at $2,965, and shoved an employee, who was treated at a hospital for minor injuries. The charge was upgraded to robbery because of the assault.

Flanagan was arrested Sept. 22 in Houston by the HPD Violent Offender Squad on a Houston warrant. He will be transferred to the Galveston County Jail, where he faces a robbery charge in League City. His bond is set at $60,000.

“The League City Police Department extends its appreciation to our law enforcement partners for their assistance in this investigation,” the agency said in a statement.
