SEABROOK — A 19-year-old woman was rescued Friday night after her vehicle accidentally drove into the Clear Creek Channel at Shipyard Marina, authorities said.
The Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department told ABC13 that the vehicle was nearly fully submerged when responders arrived. Residents living on boats in the marina reportedly jumped in to help.
Chief Nathan Douglas, speaking to ABC13, credited an assistant chief with leading the rescue. “He immediately went into action, put on his life-saving equipment—mainly a life vest and throw ropes—and was able to get into the water and save her,” Douglas said. “It was an incredible rescue and truly saved her life.”
Douglas also said he was proud of the dispatch team and other responders who contributed to the effort.
