PEARLAND — A student at Shadow Creek High School was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a Crime Stoppers tip led police to find a gun in the student’s backpack, according to Alvin ISD officials.
The district said Alvin ISD police and campus administrators immediately investigated after receiving the tip. A firearm was discovered during the search, and the student was arrested. District officials said the student will face “serious weapons charges.”
“We are grateful to the individual who made the Crime Stoppers report. Their actions helped prevent a potentially dangerous situation,” the district said in a statement to families.
The district also stressed its safety message: “If you see something, say something.”
Officials said no one was injured and the situation was resolved without incident. “The safety and security of our students and staff remains our top priority,” the statement read.
