TEXAS CITY — Visitors can see mountains, small towns, and even a T-Rex or two without ever leaving Galveston County this weekend.
The City of Texas City announced the Texas City Museum will host its annual Model Train Exhibit on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is presented in partnership with the Galveston County Model Railroad Club, which is marking its 30th anniversary this year.
Clubs from across the region will set up elaborate displays both inside the museum and at Showboat Pavilion. The exhibits feature intricate landscapes, LEGO-built scenes from the Texas Brick Railroad, and interactive setups where children can play conductor by starting and stopping trains.
The day also includes trackless train rides and full access to the Texas City Museum’s exhibits.
Admission is $10 for adults. Children 17 and under get in free but must be accompanied by an adult.
The Texas City Museum is located at 409 6th Street. More information is available at http://www.texascitytx.gov.
