Pursuit Ends with Arrest in Friendswood; Minor Injuries Reported

FRIENDSWOOD – A pursuit on Tuesday morning ended with an arrest and minor injuries after a man led officers on a chase through several streets in Friendswood.

A statement by the department said Officers attempted to stop a vehicle driving erratically near Signal Hill Drive and Bay Area Boulevard around 10:55 a.m.

The driver failed to yield, prompting a pursuit. During the chase, a patrol unit was struck at the intersection of Beacon View and El Dorado Boulevard by a westbound vehicle.

The suspect continued north on Beacon View, eventually being located in the 4900 block of Five Knolls Drive. The pursuit concluded when the vehicle stopped in the 15800 block of Hope Village Road.

The driver, 18-year-old Cole Coyle, was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention With a Motor Vehicle. Two female passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Officers involved were treated at the scene for minor injuries and released.
