SAN LEON – Members of Galveston County Sheriff’s SWAT executed a search warrant on Friday afternoon, in the 1200 block of Dick Bay Drive, according to Captain Tommy Maffei.

Maffei told KGTX 7 that four suspects were detained during the operation, and that the investigation has been turned over to the organized crime unit.

Since the investigation is ongoing, the Sheriff’s Office did not give specifics on what the search warrant entailed, the charges of the individuals, or what was found.

Maffei said the operation lasted approximately three hours, and that there were no injuries to report. He also confirmed that no gas was used, however one flashbang style device was used.

The sheriff’s office stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public and that the area is back to normal. SWAT began clearing the scene around 6:30pm.

KGTX 7 will continue to monitor this case and will report additional details, once a county press release is given.
