Shooting in Kemah Leaves Two Injured, Suspect Identified

KEMAH — Two people were hospitalized early Sunday after a shooting at a home in the 400 block of Bay Avenue, according to the Kemah Police Department.

According to a statement, police said officers were called to the residence around 1:42 a.m. for reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to UTMB Clear Lake Hospital, where police said their conditions are stable.

The suspect was later identified, having gone to San Antonio.

Investigators are working to determine what led to the shooting. Police said preliminary information suggests the incident was isolated and not a random act of violence.

The names of those involved have not yet been released, pending notification of relatives.
