TEXAS CITY — More than 100 vehicles will be on display Saturday during the City of Texas City’s annual Touch a Truck event in historic downtown, according to a city news release.
The event will take place Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. along 6th Street, with a sensory-friendly hour from 9 to 10 a.m. featuring no horns or sirens. Admission is free.
Children and families will be able to explore a variety of vehicles, including boats, race cars, construction equipment, emergency response units and a helicopter. The event will also include monster truck rides, bounce houses, obstacle courses, face painting, pumpkin decorating, food trucks, and live music.
More than 35 vendors are expected to participate. Additional activities will include a balloon artist, two large corn boxes and an interactive bubble area sponsored by Frost Bank.
Terror Isle will offer a children’s version of its haunted house for $5 per person.
City event organizer Jennifer Laird said the annual event is made possible through the involvement of local businesses, organizations and public agencies that provide vehicles and activities.
