TEXAS CITY — The Moore Memorial Public Library will take part in the 2025 Genealogy Lock-In on Friday, giving residents access to genealogical resources and presentations from experts across Texas.

The statewide event will be held virtually Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Participants can register for free and attend as many of the live-streamed sessions as they wish.

Topics include biographical writing, researching Scandinavian ancestors, tracing civil court cases, and using artificial intelligence to assist with family history research.

“This is an incredible opportunity to learn skills to help further your genealogical research,” said Theresa Mayfield, Texas City’s historical librarian. “You can unlock the mysteries of your family history and connect with your ancestors like never before.”

The Genealogy Lock-In is organized by the Genealogy Center of the Waco-McLennan County Library and provided through the Genealogy Network of Texas.
